Omar Hammerstein was born in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up as both a black and jewish man, he quickly learned the sting of oppression. He grew up an outcast who only found peace in music. He began creating his own music at a young age and has quickly become one of the fastest rising young musicians in the country, if not the world. It is difficult to pin down any consistent theme throughout his work. His deep knowledge of the different structures and forms of music allows him to explore the art in diverse and unexpected ways. He has been called the Mozart of the modern indie music composer. Here are a few of his pieces.
